Meet Natalie Ames from London who moved to LA three years ago to pursue acting.
Was there a particular reason you chose LA?
I fell in love with California when I first visited with my family many years ago, and as an actress, LA is the ultimate place to be for your career, so it made complete sense to move here when the opportunity presented itself. Now it feels like home, even the mini-earthquakes don’t bother me any more.
What one thing do you miss from home?
A good cup of tea! It’s impossible to get a strong cup of tea out here, it usually comes with lemon and not milk and it’s very weak. When I go home I bring back a huge bag of PG tips and Yorkshire tea!
What do you find the biggest difference is living here versus London?
The outdoor lifestyle! I love going to the beach, hiking and it’s all on my doorstep here! That and the amount of driving you have to do in LA is very different to London, luckily I love my Bimmer, and I manage to get a lot done on my commutes, with my handsfree.
Do you have a hidden gem in LA that you want to share with us?
Point Dume is not really hidden anymore but it’s still a lovely little gem of a beach in Malibu! I often go there when Hollywood gets too much. It’s a magical little place if you go early in the morning, the ocean is my sanctuary.
What would you suggest to others who are thinking about making the move here?
Do tons of research, save lots of money and book that ticket!
If your life was TV show, what would the theme tune be?
‘Sweet Disposition’ by Temper Trap, it’s my favorite song ever, and always puts me in a great mood.
Lastly, how can we find out more about you? Are you on the Internet?
Well I just shot a role on feature film ‘Criminal’ by director Ariel Vromen so that will be released later this year, and all my links are below! 🙂
