THE KING’S Head pub in Santa Monica will host a memorial on Sunday, October 7th for longtime manager Billy Lourie, who succumbed to a fatal heart attack on September 17th in Orange County. Billy was believed to be in his mid-fifties at the time of his death.
The rotund and jolly Billy was a fixture at the King’s Head throughout the 1980s and early 1990s, before branching out with his own bar and restaurant, Captain Billy’s, in Marina del Rey in 1994.
The memorial is scheduled from 3-6pm in the Crown Room. All friends of Billy’s and regulars during his tenure at the pub are welcome.
