Leading British author Nick Hornby will make a rare local appearance on Monday, October 22nd at 7.30pm at the Writers Guild Theater, 135 South Doheny Drive in Beverly Hills to discuss his new book, More Baths, Less Talking.
Hornby leapt to fame two decades ago Fever Pitch, his funny and poignant memoir of life as an Arsenal fan, following up with a series of celebrated novels including High Fidelity, About a Boy and Juliet Naked. In between books he writes a regular column in the magazine, The Believer, delving into books and cultural phenomena for people who not only love to read, but who also love to talk about the books they’ve read, and the ideas that spring from those books. Hornby’s latest work is a compilation of his columns from The Believer, about books he’s bought and books he’s actually read. Hornby suggests that years on, we might recall how something from a certain book or poem or conversation sneakily inspired us in a much more profound way than we might have imagined.
Tickets are priced at $31 and are available only through Brown Paper Tickets at 1-800-838-3006. Ticket price includes a copy of the new book, which Hornby will be signing after the event.
