ADELE’S meteoric rise to fame shows no signs of slowing down after it was announced that she will be performing her Oscar-nominated song Skyfall live at the awards ceremony.

Speaking just after hearing the news Adele, 24, revealed that she’s already feeling the nerves ahead of the ceremony on February 24, which will be watched by billions.

“It’s an honour to be nominated and terrifyingly wonderful to be singing in front of people who have captured my imagination over and over again. It’s something I’ve never experienced and probably only ever will once.”

Academy Award producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron said they were excited to have the London- born singer take to the stage next month.

“She is currently one of the most successful recording artists in the world and we believe that her performance of Skyfall will be an exciting Oscar moment for audiences watching at the Dolby Theatre and on television screens around the world.”

This year’s Oscars will also feature a special tribute to the James Bond series as 007 celebrates his 50th anniversary.

Skyfall marks the fourth time a Bond theme song has been nominated for Best Song, the last time was For Your Eyes Only in 1981, though no Bond song has won the statuette. Adele will be hoping it’s fourth time lucky.
