Former Miss Great Britain Leilani Dowding is doing her bit for the Brits this year by getting involved in Brits in LA’s 6th Annual The Toscars ceremony. A phenomenal event that is the brainchild of rising British talent Craig Robert Young and Hollywood ‘it-woman’ Eileen Lee (pictured).
Every year the Oscars are announced, ‘The Toscars’ participants have just three weeks to make their version of the Oscar nominated epics. These are cleverly made short parodies of the originals.
Just like Oscars, the films are then played live in Hollywood judged by celebrities. Then the winners in each category are fisted… Well, sort of…the Toscars trophy just happens to come the shape of, um…a FIST…
And this year the red carpet, black tie affair will see our very own tabloid favourite, Leilani, just like ‘Miss Golden Globe’; take to stage to be the very first ever, ‘Miss Golden Fist’.
Craig and Eileen have gone all out for the upcoming event by securing a fabulous line up of judges that includes and six-time Academy Award Winner Bruce Vilanch, True Blood star Janina Gavankar, Entourage and Suburgatory Star Rex Lee and the Oscar nominated actor Eric Roberts.
‘The Toscars’ have predicted the Academy Winner for best film for the past three years, with The Con Artist(The Artist, 2012) and The Kings Speak (The Kings Speech, 2011), which both took home the golden fist.
Leilani told the British Weekly: “I think this is a fantastic event, Craig and Eileen have done so much the ever-growing British population in LA. I am thrilled to be involved!”
After seeing this picture of Leilani holding the official Toscars Fist (center), I can think of many uncouth innuendos to go with it, such as, “Sexy Leilani gets a right fisting…”
So, who will be fisted this year? All will be revealed on February 19th at the Lloyd E. Rigler Theatre at the Egyptian in Hollywood.
