BBC Concert Orchestra to play at CSUN

THE BBC Concert Orchestra makes a rare local appearance this month, performing at the Valley Performing Arts Center in Northridge on Thursday, February 14th from 8pm.

bbc-conductorLed by conductor Keith Lockhart (pictured, left), this presentation offers a delightful and pleasing program of great late 19th-century/early 20th-century British repertoire with works from Benjamin Britten (Four Sea Interludes from Peter Grimes), Edward Elgar (Cello Concerto in E minor and The Enigma Variations) and George Butterworth (The Banks of Green Willow).

From its humble beginnings as a radio orchestra, the BBC Concert Orchestra has grown into one of the world’s most respected and versatile orchestras, with an enviable reputation in the fields of film music, opera, ballet and musical theater as well as the traditional Western European classic canon.

The Valley Performing Arts Center is located at Cal State Northridge. For tickets, visit www.valleyperformingartscenter.org/calendar/bbc.

On Friday, March 1st, at 8pm the combined bands of the Black Watch and the Royal Scots Guards will be playing at the same venue as part of their North American tour. Tickets can be purchased at www.valleyperformingartscenter.org or through www.goldstar.com.
