Fifty Shades of Food – a tasty event from BritWeek in the OC…

The British American Business Council Orange County will launch BritWeek 2013 with a tasty event titled ‘Fifty Shades of Food, Glorious Food’, bringing together six top chefs from Orange County’s hottest restaurants to create a food extravaganza. Hosted at the Hilton Hotel Anaheim on Friday April 26, the event promises  ‘unique dishes, offering a feast for all the senses will be prepared and personally presented by Orange County’s premier chefs to honored guests and Orange County’s consummate ‘foodies’.’

hilton-anaheimThe ambitious culinary charity gala will be hosted by the British American Business Council, Orange County(BABC OC) and will benefit  the council’s scholarship fund, that sends two Orange County students  on a two-week, all expenses paid trip to the ACS International School British Studies Summer Program, and also Pure Game – a non-profit charity that mentors under privileged Orange County youth through the power of positive words and encouragement on the soccer field.

Presenting scholarships to two lucky Orange County high school students will be Warren Barton, a television studio analyst for FOX Soccer and former Wimbledon, Newcastle and England defender.

Shaun Robinson, 2013 President of the BABC OC is excited about the event: “We are thrilled beyond belief at the caliber of chefs who are participating and supporting this event,” said Robinson. “The event has attracted top chefs who have travelled the world, served kings and queens, and who are now putting Orange County on the map with their outstanding food and spectacular restaurants.”

Participating chefs/restaurants include: The Hilton’s Executive Chef Kyung Soo Carroll, chef Azmin Ghahreman owner of Sapphire restaurant and Lounge in Laguna Beach, chef Andrew Sutton, of Disney’s Napa Rose Restaurant, chef Michael Rossi of The Ranch Restaurant and Saloon, executive chef Sayed Moalemi of the TusCa Hyatt Hotel, Anaheim, and chef Alfred Prasad of Tamarind of London, Mayfair and Newport Beach.

Between courses a silent auction and musical entertainment will take place with a performance by Michael Johns a finalist of American Idol, Season 7.  Kent French host/producer for the Anaheim Ducks will emcee the event.

This event has been chosen to kick off the county’s  BritWeek 2013 celebration , an annual event that celebrates ‘creativity and innovation between Britain and California’.
