BRITWEEK 2013 kicked off with a bang this week with a star-studded private reception at the Consul-General’s residence in Hancock Park.
Nigel Lythgoe, Jason Isaacs, Timothy Dalton, Juliet Mills and hubby Maxwell Caulfield, footballer-turned-actor Vinnie Jones and Real Housewives star Lisa Vanderpump were among the celebrities on hand to celebrate the beginning of a two-week extravaganza of British arts and culture in Southern California.
The theme of the event was ‘A Salute to Old Hollywood’, and in keeping with the theme guests were greeted by entertainers dressed as Laurel and Hardy.
BritWeek was formed to educate the general public about the contributions of the British to California, and to do other and various good public works. They also host a number of events open to the general public that focus on the British contribution to film, fashion, music, the automotive industry and science.
BritWeek was founded by So You Think You Can Dance and American Idol producer Nigel Lythgoe, the former British Consul-General in Los Angeles, Bob Peirce, Simon Wright and Paul J. Wright Esq who serves as its General Counsel.
