The  home, located at 647 Manzanita Avenue, will host the annual event, from 10:00am to 2:30 pm.

This is a festive and family-friendly event held every year at the non-profit, independent and assisted living facility for seniors, offering British-style fun, food and entertainment for everyone from 5 to 105.

The peaceful two-acre grounds will offer crafts, books, tools, collectibles, personal accessories, and decorative and household items for sale, the proceeds from which support the British Home.

Traditional British food, including ploughman’s lunches, English bangers, home-baked breads, pastries and savories, and a “proper” Victorian Tea Room will be available for your enjoyment throughout the day.  Attendees can treat the kids to a hot dog, and a soda, topped off with a sno-cone or refreshing bowl of strawberries and ice cream.

The Children’s Area is among the Faire’s most popular features.  The fun begins with a stop at the face-painting booth.  Game booths, a bouncy house, sticky wall, water toss and bubble wand activities will  provide hours of wholesome fun for the kids.

Live entertainment will include bagpipers and adults and youngsters performing traditional Morris, Scottish and Irish dances.

You may also have your picture taken with a strolling “British Bobby” or “Beefeater.”  Coming attired – British style – in the garb of your favorite historical era is also encouraged.

The British Home is located in a residential area, with parking along Ramona and Manzanita Avenues, as well as on the side streets.  For more information, please call (626) 355-7240 or visit their website: www.britishhome-ca.us.
