It’s A Boy; now come and celebrate!

Hi Everyone:

What a week it has been for the British!
We came agonizingly close in the golf, Chris Froome won the Tour De France and I will never understand cricket but it seems we are doing rather well there too, at the moment!

     In other news…It’s a Boy!

A lot of you were speculating and now we finally know! Born at 4.24pm on July 22nd 2013, his name will be Prince George Alexander Louis Cambridge.
I know not everyone is into the Royals but I really enjoy having a monarchy. Even as a young child I would send them letters or drawings occasionally. Now I get the chance to host events celebrating them (see below!). I thought some of you might get a kick out of this letter I received from Princess Diana’s Lady-in-Waiting. This was in response to my letter congratulating the
Princess of Wales on the birth of her son William back in 1983!

Speaking of the birth , Brits In LA will be hosting a
Summer Fete in celebration this Sunday, July 28th from 3-6pm at the Palihouse in West Hollywood.
Sponsored by Volkswagen Santa Monica, Audi Pacific & Beltran Brito Immigration Attorneys. There will be food, drink and some great games, no to mention fantastic prizes including apair of tickets
to see the stage show War Horse
. Tickets are now available for purchase at: britroyalbabyshower.eventbrite.com. Childen under 12 are free.
The event will benefit the lovely charity Baby2Baby, who help babies and mothers who are not quite so fortunate as our future King and The Duchess of Cambridges.
Great musical talent joining us too. As always our events sell out fast so book your ticket today. Special thanks to Brits In LA member Ben Stanley for the awesome artwork. We will be rolling out our infamous dress-up photo booth too,
so be prepared to get silly and have some fun.

SummerFeteFlyer-04We are very honored to have the lovely Summer Watson performing for us all on Sunday as s well as drum and bagpipe band Dram!

Don’t forget our other regular Brits In LA events including our breakfast every Tuesdays at Cecconi’s on Melrose and Robertson in West Hollywood and the Sunday Roast at The Pikey on Sunset Boulevard in Hollyood. Book a table any time from 4pm onwards. And then there’s our weekly webchat on Twitter this Friday at 10am PST for our weekly chat with BBC America’s Mind The Gap, simply hashtag #mindthechat@britsinla.

And finally, we’ve been polling our members for their favorite pubs in Los Angeles. Huge Congratulations to The Kings Head II in Studio City for coming first! Runners up were the Cat and Fiddle, Ye Olde Kings Head in Santa Monica, The Pikey and The Village Idiot on Melrose.

Wear your best Red, White or Blue on Sunday!

Cheers! Eileen & Craig
