Meet John Mawson, who moved to Los Angeles in 2011 as an actor and immediately found himself writing and producing as well.
Was there a particular reason you chose LA?
It’s where the film and TV industry is based. I had to come here.
What one thing do you miss from home?
Family and friends… and Adnams bitter.
What do you find the biggest difference is living here versus the UK?
The weather, obviously, but also the positive, enthusiastic attitude to life and work here.
Do you have a hidden gem in Los Angeles that you want to share with us?
Franklin Canyon Park off Coldwater Canyon. It’s great for hiking and picnicking.
What would you suggest to others who are thinking about making the move here?
Plan, research and come out here first on a properly organized recce. You can waste a huge amout of time and money otherwise.
