Hi Everyone!
Hope you are all having a great week? First off, Congratulations to Mo Farah for his brilliant performance on behalf of Britain at the World Championships! Brits are doing so well in the sporting world at the moment, so it was disappointing to read that more and more children are opting out of PE at school. Get your kids off their backsides and encourage them to get involved in a sporting activity if you can!
For any men over 30 who need to get some exercise, our football team The BLAggers are still holding try outs for the team. Email lablaggers@gmail.com if you think you have what it takes!
Make sure to visit our blog The Anglo Files, as we have two new fab contributors; Lisa Marks writes Back to Jack to keep us up with what’s going on back in the UK, then Steve Sidelnyk is covering the Premier League matches as soccer is neither mine or Craig’s strongest subject!
Our pub crawl last weekend was a blast – I think the general public were very amused to see a group of merry Brits (pictured, above) riding around LA on a red double decker bus! Particularly because we were wearing matching “The Worlds End” t-shirts! Watch this space for details of our September crawl.
I also popped along to hear Frederick Forsyth speak at the Writers Bloc on Tuesday. He is on a book tour promoting his latest novel The Kill List. He is a fascinating speaker and has seen and done so much! He could probably talk for days and not run out of things to tell us! I hear Skylight Books in Los Feliz have a few signed copies of his current book, so if you are a fan, go grab them quick!
Very excited about the charity polo match on September 7th, it will be a brilliant day out and all for a good cause! You can get all the details from the ad on this page.
We are slowly planning our Halloween Party – “Dead British” either dress as a dead Brit or something dead British. It will be on October 31st, so mark you calendars!
If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to contact us at info@britsin.la
We are popping along to check out the new Aston Martin 14MY Vanquish Volante – will try and get a picture of one of us test driving it for our next newsletter..
All details of any of the events I have mentioned are listed on our website, including our Tuesday Weekly Breakfast Club sponsored by Next Stop LAX. No reservation required, just stop in and join a table. Feel free to come solo as we are a friendly bunch!
Cheers!
Eileen & Craig
