October Surprise…

Happy October Everyone!

breaking-bad-BLAMy favorite month, as both Craig and I celebrate our birthdays! A few of us got together last weekend at the Pikey in Los Angeles and surprised Craig with a party. It was so much fun and Craig was completely overwhelmed! We all ate “Craig Cake” and FYI he tastes like Red Velvet!

It really was a full weekend of celebration finishing up with Depeche Mode at the Staples Center. A fantastic show, I highly recommend it. They have a few US tour dates left, so catch them if you can. Next birthday stop is Mexico – Craig is bound to fill you in upon our return.

Next week is also jam-packed – the acclaimed World War One drama War Horse is opening at the Pantages Theater in Hollywood (6233 Hollywood Blvd) and we also managed to snag tickets to the Pet Shop Boys on October 12th at The Shrine (located at 665 W Jefferson Blvd.). Placebo, Travis and Ellie Goulding are also in town – visit our website for full details of all Brit acts performing in LA – it’s www.Britsin.la

return-to-hiding-placeWhen Craig is not hard at work on Brits in LA he can be found on the big screen. Next week the Bel Air Film Festival is screening his film “Return to The Hiding Place” on Sunday, October 13th at the James Bridges Theatre. Starts at 4pm and the after party will be at our favourite hangout The Pikey, (7617 Sunset Blvd, 90046). Hope to see some of you there.

Our Meet A Member this week features Sandro Monetti of “Miserable Lesbians” fame! They have another show coming up, so you have another chance to see what all the fuss is all about. Save the date, November 17th – at The Working Stage Theater in Hollywood.

For those of you planning to update or apply for your British passport for yourself or family members, there’s been a big change recently. The paperwork is now handled through the passport office in the UK, not the Embassy in Washington.

Visit our website to get the new instructions.

And finally: last Sunday it seemed like the country had gone Breaking Mad – my Facebook newsfeed was full of it. I haven’t seen it, but I had fun playing with an app that honours the show. But then meth was never my best subject at school…

Full details on everything I have mentioned this week can be found on our website – have any questions? Please don’t hesitate to contact us at info@britsin.la

See you next time!

Cheers, Eileen
