Hi Everyone!!
DEAD BRITISH! DEAD BRITISH! DEAD BRITISH!
Can you tell I am excited about our Halloween party?! By the time this goes to press it will be over, so make sure to catch Craig’s column next week to see all the fab Dead Brits that showed up! A huge thank-you to Volkswagen Santa Monica and Beltran Brito for supporting this event. For those of you not in the know, Volkswagen Santa Monica offer a foreign business professional leasing program which ultimately means you don’t need to have credit established here to get a car! Beltran Brito is one of the immigration firms our members prefer – for more details check out their advert below.
I am delighted to announce we have reached over 6000 members on our Facebook page! If you have put in a request to join and are still pending, make sure to drop us a line to give us a nudge. We automatically accept new members to the group only if they have friends that are already members, otherwise we ask that you send an email to us telling us a little about yourselves.
Otherwise we ask that you send an email to us at BritsInLA@gmail.com telling us a little about yourselves. Or just come along and say hi at one of our events! There are lots to choose from – we have our weekly Breakfast Club sponsored by Next Stop LAX every Tuesday morning at Cecconi’s, The Pikey Pub Quiz on Sunset Boulevard and also a lot of one-off events including our very fun upcoming and exciting collaboration with the Cat and Fiddle pub in Hollywood, celebrating 50 years of Dr Who on November 23rd, featuring a live broadcast of the anniversary episode ‘The Day of the Doctor’.
Sandro Monetti will be hosting the evening along with special guest Tessa Shaw (from the Third Doctor’s ‘ Spearhead from Space’). Costumes encouraged, so come and enjoy a cyber-snack or a pint of Extermin-ale with us and some fellow Whovians! Tickets can be purchased by visiting this web page – https://drwho.eventbrite.com.
The two questions posed to us this week that seemed to get a lot of attention were: ‘Where can I buy wellies?’ and ‘Where can I buy parsnips?’ For the answers to these questions and many more – find us on Facebook. I also would love to hear what some of you don’t miss from the UK or what you miss when you are away from LA?
That’s all for this week – don’t forget the clocks change here on Saturday night! Think it means we get an extra hour sleep, woohoo!!. The reminder us ‘Americans’ can use is ‘Spring forward, Fall back’, I do…. but I still get confused.
Visit our website for all info on any of our events or details on how to contact us – www.Britsin.LA
Cheers!
