What Victoria Beckham really, really wants is to never sing with the Spice Girls ever again.
The artist formerly known as Posh Spice has spoken to Vanity Fair Italy and Spain about the possibility of another Spice reunion of the popular ’90s girl band.
The group – whose members also include Emma Bunton, Geri Halliwell, Melanie Brown and Melanie Chisholm – last reunited to perform during the London Olympics’ closing show in 2012 – which Victoria says is the last time you will ever hear the five babes singing together.
“I won’t ever do it again,” the 39-year-old said in the cover interview for the February issue, news that will either devastate those who lived their lives by girl power, or delight those baffled by the ladies’ questionable vocal talents.
While the mother-of-four said she was proud and honored to have taken part in the Olympics, it was the “perfect time to say, ‘That’s great. Thank you to everybody, but no more.”
“Sometimes you’ve got to know when it’s time to leave the party,” she added.
Oo-er!
But Beckham had praise for her former group and credited her music career with her present success.
“The Spice Girls were successful because we celebrated women,” Beckham said. “That’s why I do what I want today.”
Beckham focuses on her family these days with retired soccer ace David Beckham and her eponymous fashion line, which is favored by fellow celebs from Kate Winslet to Beyoncé to Blake Lively.
So I guess she doesn’t need the dosh for now… But I reckon VB will go back on her word… one day…
