Amanda Eliasch’s award-winning film The Gun, The Cake and The Butterfly, will screen exclusively as part of BritWeek on Monday, April 28th at 7.30 pm with a cocktail reception to follow at 9pm at the ArcLight Hollywood, 6360 W. Sunset Boulevard.
Socialite Eliasch is the granddaughter of St Trinian’s film director Sidney Gilliat and the daughter of journalist and writer Anthony Cave Brown. She made headlines in the UK a few years back with her high-profile divorce from sportswear tycoon Johan Eliasch. Like so many of us, she has since reinvented herself in Los Angeles as a filmmaker, and in her new film she
pulls the skeletons out of her closet, dresses them in designer couture, and parades them down the catwalk of her glamorous and mesmerizing life.
The worlds of opera, fashion, poetry and art intertwine in The Gun, The Cake and The Butterfly. Along the twisted, sensual path of her life, Amanda weaves through the loss of innocence and her tragic childhood, into the beguiling world of love and sex in a privileged circle of influential figures.
