Ex-Spice Girl Mel B, aka Scary Spice, was front and center in the X Factor (UK) rumor mill this week, with reports suggesting she’s to a sign a big-money deal worth up $1.5million to become the elusive fourth judge on the hit telly talent show.

melbShow boss Simon Cowell, is willing to break the bank to secure Mel’s place on the panel in time for auditions starting in June. Singer Mel had in-depth talks with execs at ITV last week and last-minute details about her contract are now being agreed.

The move will see her join Simon, Louis Walsh, and Cheryl Cole on the talent show, which returns to British screens in the summer.

A source close to Louis has revealed that Mel is due to sign on the dotted line any day now. The insider added: “It’s pretty much a done deal. And Simon thinks Mel will be perfect for the show.

“Fine details such as her expenses budget and filming dates need to be agreed. Other than that, she’s ready to go.”

The returning judges are after all bound to give a chunk of airtime to their public falling out over Cole’s sharp shift from the X Factor (US).  Mel has a reputation for being a “feisty spice” that has insiders banking on her being good TV.

A no-nonsense referee on the panel could be just what the show needs. One well-placed source told me, “Mel could easily steal Simon’s ‘Mr. Nasty’ crown… She’ll be known as Mrs. Nasty the minute she hit the screens.”

An X Factor spokesman said final decisions on the judging line-up were still being made.

Good luck Mel… You were excellent on America’s Got Talent… This job has your “Scary” name stamped all over it!
