They’re back at it again. British star Andrew Garfield and his girlf’ Emma Stone, covered their faces from paparazzi Tuesday in New York City – but for a good cause. The Amazing Spider-Man 2‘s real-life couple held small, handwritten notes while walking, telling photographers outside of their Manhattan lunch spot to divert their attention to charity websites, and away from them.
Stone’s sign read: “Good morning! We were eating and saw a group of guys with cameras outside. And so we thought, let’s try this again. We don’t need the attention, but these wonderful organizations do —>”
Garfield’s sign read: “www.youthmentoring.org, www.autismspeaks.org, (and don’t forget) www.wwo.org,www.gildasclubnyc.org. Here’s to the stuff that matters. Have a great day!”
How very American of him!
Back in September 2012, the couple realized they were being photographed and quickly scribbled down messages advocating for Gilda’s Club, which supports those living with cancer, and Worldwide Orphans Foundation, which provides healthcare and education to orphaned children.
But whether or not you agree with the cute couple’s choice of charities, you’ve got to appreciate that Stone and Garfield have figured out how to make the paparazzi work for them.
Clever stunt!
