With George Lazenby to make special appearance at the screening
Event set for Tuesday, July 8 at 7:00pm at The Landmark in West Los Angeles
TO SOME the name George Lazenby is just a punchline; a byword for scorn after his one stint as James Bond in On Her Majesty’s Secret Service. But there are others – veteran Bond fans included – who will tell you that OHMSS remains one of the very best excursions into Bondage.
This month marks the 45th Anniversary of the release of the film, and to mark the occasion Landmark Theatres, as part of their Anniversary Classics Series, will present a special screening of OHMSS on Tuesday, July 8, at 7:00pm. And Lazenby himself will be in attendance, in conversation with leading local film critic Stephen Farber.
The film also features a classy supporting cast that includes Diana Rigg as Bond’s wife, Telly Savalas as arch-villain Blofeld, and series regulars Bernard Lee as M, Desmond Llewelyn as Q, and Lois Maxwell as Moneypenny. The film was directed by Peter R. Hunt, who had experience on prior Bond films as film editor and second unit director. Hunt and the producers styled a realistic Bond adventure that followed the original novel closely, which also endears it to authentic Bond fans. The movie is enhanced by John Barry’s score, and its signature love song “We Have All the Time in the World”, with music by Barry and lyrics by Hal David, sung by Louis Armstrong.
Advance tickets for this event are now on sale for $13.00. The Landmark is located at 10850 West Pico Boulevard in Los Angeles. For tickets visit: www.landmarktheatres.com.
