Many have tried, and oh so many have failed… Ant and Dec, Denise Van Outen and even Robbie Williams have all tried to crack it in the States, and all of the failed miserably… Now, Strictly Come Dancing host, Tess Daly is hoping to land a plum job on this side of the pond.
The British TV star, 44 (not a spring chicken then), admitted she would be tempted to make the move across the pond if she was offered a hosting gig.
But Tess, who is married to Vernon Kay, another Brit-wannabe who failed to make his mark across over here, revealed it is her two young daughters who are holding her back.
“I’d love to live in the States for a couple of months a year, just because it feels like you’re on holiday the whole time.
“I love that sunshiney, everything-is-possible vibe.
“But it’s not really practical to take the kids out of school here and schlep over there to do the rounds.
“If I was offered a show on a plate, that would be very tempting,” she added.
Presently, Daly is gearing up to front the 12th series of “Strictly Come Dancing” with new co-host Claudia Winkleman, who replaced retired Bruce Forsyth.
Message to Tess: Living in LA is certainly not like being on holiday all of the time… Hmm, cheeky mare!
