Wow folks, I know that showbiz can be a little bit trying at times…but I was surprised to hear that Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe takes medication for blood pressure!
Oo-er… at the age of 25… Seriously? The young movie star admitted that he takes the medication to deal with his excruciating cluster headaches, but insisted that his health is nothing to worry about. In a recent interview the former boy wizard explained: “You have to be on blood pressure medication and have an ECG every so often. Don’t worry, I’m perfectly fine.” Daniel, who is currently starring in the romantic comedy What If, spoke about his cluster headaches, which are severe attacks of pain on one side of the head, in a 2012 interview. He said: “It’s very rare evidently, but it’s exceptionally painful. “It makes a migraine look quite tame. At the time, I thought I was being a wuss. I was taking 12 [strong painkillers] a day and going, “Why do I still have a headache?’” Despite maintaining a private persona, Radcliffe has been very open about issues in his life, including his dependence on alcohol to cope with the pressures of fame. But Daniel regrets opening up about that particular problem. He said: “If I had to give my younger self one piece of advice it would be, don’t talk about that in an interview. Because I’ve answered questions on it for three or four years since. And it’s such an insignificant part of my life that everyone just wants to talk about.” Hmmm, perhaps it’s time to stick a cork in it, Daniel…
