Meet Jamie Robinson from Edinburgh Scotland who moved to LA 2 years ago to pursue boxing.
Was there a particular reason you chose LA?
LA is the home of boxing training, pretty much everyone that is any good trains here so you get crazy good sparring sessions – better than some fights!
What one thing do you miss from home?
Literally nothing! My wife and kid live here in LA and I have everything I need. I will never leave!
What do you find the biggest difference is living here versus the UK?
The weather and people are much nicer and more positive.
Do you have a hidden gem in LA that you want to share with us?
The 35er in Pasadena is my favorite bar to hang out in! It’s a great vibe
What would you suggest to others who are thinking about making the move here?
Make sure you do your research on visas and work out places to stay while you get on your feet. Also have some extra money to use because you will need it. LA is expensive place! I made the mistake of doing nothing – no visa or money and jumping on a plane… I just got lucky!
