Lisa Vanderpump spent last weekend in her favorite getaway town, Palm Springs – where the TV personality served as Grand Marshall of the Palm Springs Festival Of Lights Parade.
The event took place last Saturday night and Lisa looking stunning wearing a diamond encrusted Marc Bouwer faux fur.
The star was joined by her Real Housewives of Beverly Hills husband, Ken Todd and their trusty pooch Giggy, who looked characteristically adorable in his little white formal wear as all three were escorted around town in a cream Bentley convertible.
Though Lisa is famously a resident of Beverly Hills, the restaurateur’s history with Palm Springs makes her an excellent candidate to lead the 23rd annual parade.
Last summer the reality star was honored with a place on the Palm Springs Walk of Stars and has provided fundraising for the community’s organization, the Desert AIDS Project.
The British personality has also developed quite a local following as a steadfast advocate for the LGBT Community and a spokesperson for GLAAD (Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation). She was named Queen of the White Party Palm Springs and received an ICON Award from event producer Jeffrey Sanker, and she fundraises locally for charities such as Desert AIDS Project.
“Palm Springs is so welcoming and wonderful,”Vanderpump says. “I just love the fact that the city embraces the LGBT community.”
Known for her glamorous style and her seemingly effortless ability to keep her cool, Vanderpump often deals with stressful or awkward situations on her TV shows. However, she always manages to remain above it all.
“Oh gosh, sometimes it does get a bit crazy but I’m used to being surrounded by crazy,”says Vanderpump. “I try to keep my head together. I try to be fair and reasonable with a sense of humor.”
Lisa posted pictures from the event to her Instagram, where she noted she was “honored” to be the leading lady of the night.
And where Lisa is, I am often not too far away supporting her charitable efforts. I even managed to jump in the frame (left) for a few pictures as she posed happily for renowned photographer Dimitri Halkidis.
Popular Palm Springs local Dimitri is the owner of Gallery 446 on Indian Canyon, that also plays home to his hugely successful anti-bullying charity Boo2Bullying.
Dimitri told British Weekly: “We love having Lisa visit us here in Palm Springs she does so much for our local community.”
He added: “She brings all that Beverly Hills glamour with her when she comes to town, but she’s also a very down to earth lady indeed.”
