I was left shaken (and a little stirred) to discover British hotties Jason Statham and Jude Law will join forces in an upcoming comedy espionage flick – Spy, which sees Melissa McCarthy star as a female James Bond – only she’s a little bit inept at it… Oo-er!
The film follows CIA analyst Susan Cooper’s (McCarthy) attempt to take on the role of a spy and attempt a secret mission.
But when her partner (played by Law) falls off the grid and another top agent (Statham) is compromised, she volunteers to go deep undercover to infiltrate the world of a deadly arms dealer, and prevent a global disaster.
The movie also stars Rose Byrne, Morena Baccarin, Allison Janney, Bobby Cannavale, and 50 Cent and promises to combine a mix of comedy and action sequences that will turn the format of a generic spy film on its head.
We caught a teaser clip for the film at empireonline.com this week and if the clip is any guide to the movie, it should be murderously funny. We’re also glad for the clarification on the meaning of the word ‘twot’ in America!
It’s hysterical watching Jason do comedy – he totally pulls it off! I can’t wait for this one to hit cinemas…
