US sport is a load of balls, says Russ

Russell Brand reckons basketball is nothing compared to watching his beloved West Ham and wasn’t impressed with the LA Lakers game he saw this week.

The footy-mad star hung out courtside with fiancée Katy Perry but when he couldn’t get into the sport, he voiced his frustration in a series of Tweets. In fact, there were so many it seemed like he spent more time Tweeting than watching the match!

As he arrived, he posted: “Lakers tonight. I’ll be courtside” and then quipped: “Kobe [Bryant] must focus on three balls because I refuse to wear underpants.”

And once he got home, the game was obviously still on his mind. He tweeted: “What is a Laker anyway? A sub aquatic Quaker? It doesn’t make sense.”

“And they pick the ball up in their hands. God, I miss West Ham.”

At one point he also said: “I’ve just heard the Lakers are all millionaires! How! I put my balls in a basket ONCE and I was thrown out of the maternity ward.”

OK Russ we get the idea – you’re not into basketball and the players are overpaid. Thing is, with courtside seats at the Lakers costing around $3300, you’re obviously not short of a few bob either!
