Meet Bettina Brighton from London who moved to LA 3 years ago.
Was there a particular reason you chose LA?
I have always been fascinated with LA, it is magical.
What do you miss most from home?
I feel LA is my home now. I miss hearing the word “Reem” in a sentence. I also miss being able to use British Sign Language as American Sign Language is different…
And of course family.
What was your first impression of LA and has it changed since ? If so why?
I have always loved LA and I still do!
What do you find the biggest difference is living here versus London?
I find that the unexpected happens a lot more here….and lots more Vegan food restaurants which is great! Visit Yelp for a great list of Vegan restaurants in LA
Do you have any hidden gems in LA that you want to share with us?
Yes the amazing place that I do yoga and meditation is www.ninetreasuresyoga.com on Sunset Boulevard, and Babacar’s African Braids, the salon where I get my braids done! He is excellent and they cater for all different hairstyles and will make you look sexy (www.babacarsafricanbraids.com). Plus any event were the handsome Sandro Monetti is compering, as he is a bit of a gem!
A lot of people have misconceptions about LA – did you ?
I thought it would be great and it is.
What would you suggest to others who are thinking about making the move here?
Think positive and figure out how to make it happen!
If your your life was a TV show what would be the theme tune and why?
“Absolutely Fabulous” of course and theme tune would be “Boozey in the Jacuzzi” which is the song I produced which will soon be released on iTunes….And why my theme tune – just because I like to have a cheeky giggle!
