I hear Lady Gaga is working day and night on her very own Thriller – with help from the “Rocket Man” himself Sir Elton John!
The poor reception for the 2013 album ARTPOP has forced “Lady G” to let go of songwriting control, with the aim of making an all-out pop record using other big name writers. Step forward Sir Elt’!
A source said: “She’s recorded with Nile Rodgers, Mark Ronson and Max Martin, so it’s pop all the way.”
And the latest man to board her collaborative pop space station is the veteran English singer-songwriter.
Elton, 68, said: “I’m writing with Gaga. I’ve heard two songs, which are killer. They’re just great songs. Back to the early stuff of hers. It’s all about the song.”
Elts, who made Gaga godmother to his kids, last performed a duet with her for the animated film Gnomeo & Juliet.
And he believes she has got her career back on track. “ARTPOP was not a great idea,” he told Beats 1 radio.
“It was not a good album and I think she would admit that. Then in the midst of that she did three things which were amazing. She did the album with Tony Bennett, sang the Julie Andrews tribute at the Oscars, and was on American Horror Story.”
Friends believe Gaga’s new album could deliver as many hits as Michael Jackson’s classic Thriller.
But it’s Carole King who Elton thinks she should be aspiring to be.
Gaga will give a first taster at the Grammy Awards on February 15… Can’t wait!
