BABC host Crowdfunding breakfast seminar in Santa Monica

THE BEACH cities of Santa Monica and Venice have in recent years become hotbeds for technology startups and an upcoming Business Breakfast from the British American Business Council reflects that new reality.

The BABC’s LA Silicon Beach Breakfast: Crowdfunding event on Thursday, February 25th from 7.30-9.15am at the Fairmont Miramar Hotel & Bungalows, (101 Wilshire Boulevard in Santa Monica) features moderator Brian MacMahon of Expert Dojo, a knowledge base which enjoys access to thousands of experts and mentors who will help any entrepreneur find out whatever they need to know to pursue their small business dream. Brian also speaks all over the world on how to start, grow and expand any business.

The event’s featured panelists are Alon Goren, founder of Investedin.com, who has has developed technology that powers websites and financial transactions for Fortune 500 companies and well-known foundations such as Coca-Cola, ATB Financial and Global Philanthropy Group. He also created a white label fundraising portal for individuals and businesses hoping to crowdfund ventures independently of major platforms.

Also on the panel is Mark Hiralde of Petillon Hiralde LLP. Mark is a securities attorney with Mitchell Silberberg & Knupp LLP. He testified before the Securities Subcommittee of the U.S. Senate Banking Committee about the JOBS Act, drafted crowdfunding legislation to be introduced this year in the California legislature and is the author of Crowdfunding: A Practical Guide to the SEC’s Final Rules for Raising Capital.

The final panel member is Taylor MacPartland, a Northern California native and founder of FilmBreak, an audience engagement and crowdfunding agency.
