July 31st sees the KCET debut of season three of Shetland, the police procedural set in the remote Scottish island community, starring Doug Henshall and Archie Panjabi.
Henshall (left) stars as Detective Inspector Jimmy Perez as he works to gather clues and solve crimes, assisted by Detective Sergeant McIntosh and TDC Wilson. In the first episode when a young man disappears on a ferry crossing and a small boy ends up in intensive care, Perez and his team become convinced the two events are connected. Panjabi plays the role of Asha Israni, a staffer from the Glasgow Police Department who is brought to Shetland to protect a witness for a crime.
Series three will follow Panjabi’s character as she navigates the tight knit community of Shetland and the development of her relationship with Jimmy Perez.
Series three of Shetland airs on July 31, at 9 p.m. PT on KCET. Check local listings for channel number in your community.
