The word is out according to EW, that Academy-Award winning actress, Rachel Weisz is tipped to take on the iconic role of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis in an upcoming biopic currently being packaged by those super-agents at CAA.
The project we are told is now being shopped to all the major studios.
The story is based around Jackie O’s life in the days that immediately followed the assassination of her husband, President John F. Kennedy.
I am a big fan of Rachel’s work, but it’ll be interesting to see how she’ll handle such a demanding role. Weisz’s fiancée, director Darren Aronofsky (The Wrestler) is attached to direct and produce, along with his producing partner Scott Franklin and their Protozoa Pictures film company.
This marks Weisz and Aronofsky’s second collaboration after 2006’s The Fountain.
