The X Factor supremo Simon Cowell has taken an interest in gardening and is eyeing up a project for the Chelsea Flower Show swapping pop for roses.
Oo-er!
Green-fingered Cowell’s company Syco is developing a new British movie about the famous West London horticultural event.
A close source revealed: “It’s a light-hearted feel-good comedy set in the gardening world and focusing on the Chelsea Flower Show.
“Everybody loved the story when they heard it, including Simon, so it’s now well into the development stages.
“A director is on board with a view to start shooting this summer.”
Sounds like Simon is angling for a judging role at the show.
Of course, it’s not Syco’s first movie production.
In 2013 they brought Paul Potts story to the cinema screens with One Chance starring James Cordon, as well as the One Direction movie, This Is Us.
However, the as-yet-untitled project is a new direction for the man best known for TV talent shows.
The source continued: “Gardening is big business today, you could call it the new rock ‘n’ roll.
“So it’s no surprise that Simon has got on board so early.”
So happy to see Simon branching out into new ventures…
And a great opportunity for Syco acts like Little Mix and James Arthur to write for the soundtrack!
