Toscars Report: a very cool night in Hollywood….

THE WEATHER was cold in Hollywood on Wednesday night but the mood was warm at the 11th Annual BiLA Toscars Award Show. Held at the Renberg Theatre on McCadden Avenue this glitzy event featured many leading BiLA members, a glitzy red carpet and celebrity presenters including Janice Dickinson (often called the world’s first supermodel) singer/actress Samantha Mumba, the outrageous personality Moni Stat and Toscars host Lucie Pohl, who kept proceedings moving along nicely between awards.

The team from The Shade of Aqua

Strong waters flowed freely as the largely British crowd did their best to ward off the winter chill, with margaritas from the Perfectomundo Tequila company a popular choice for many. We especially enjoyed chatting to the delightful Nita Mistry from Islington, who starred as Guppy Love in one of the evening’s offerings, The Shade of Aqua. A special mention must also go to the overworked folks of at the Batterfish food truck, who managed big demand for their fish & chips with good grace. Among the demi-celebs we spotted were adult film legend Ron Jeremy, who was generous in granting selfies to his many fans, veteran Fleet Street scribbler Chrissy Iley, and Lady Victoria Hervey, whose mood looked as chilly as the weather when interrupted from her fish and chip supper by a well-wisher.

All in all another great night at the Toscars. Big thanks Craig and Eileen and all those creative souls who participated in the competition
