If you’re desperately crying out for your next Cheryl Tweedy fix, you’re going to have to hang on just a little longer, or so I’m told…
The X Factor judge – who sat on the panel between 2008 and 2015 – was reportedly meant to return on Simon Cowell‘s dance series, The Greatest Dancer.
However, while rumours were ripe that Chezza’s primetime comeback was to be this year, the programme won’t actually air until 2019.
The Greatest Dancer is Simon’s next big Saturday night TV hit and is set to air on the BBC. The UK’s best dance acts from across all genres compete in a bid to be crowned the, er, Greatest Dancer… Ya get it?
Kate Phillips, Controller of Entertainment Commissioning for the BBC, said of the project: “With the continued success of Strictly Come Dancing, the BBC is undoubtedly the home of dance.
“By launching The Greatest Dancer we want to give the vast array of dance talent across the UK the chance to shine.
“I can’t wait to work with (Cowell’s production company) Syco and Thames to uncover the talent out there and let our audience critique and celebrate the nation’s unsung dance heroes.”
Girls Aloud bombshell Cheryl is thought to have filmed a pilot of the show alongside Glee’s Matthew Morrison and Strictly Come Dancing professional Oti Mabuse.
Before her comeback, Cheryl is thought to have a clear schedule of TV work this year.
However, she has more than enough other projects to keep her busy until then.
The Fight For This Love singer, who was famously married to England footballer Ashley Cole and French restaurateur Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini before meeting her current beau, One Direction singer Liam Payne, is thought to be working on new music with Girls Aloud AND solo projects.
She also has a lucrative beauty deal with L’Oreal.
And, most importantly, she’ll be running after her one-year-old son Bear.
No doubt about it, our Chezza is one busy lady!
