Amanda and George: styling the geriatrics…

Another pair of Brits sighted about Tinseltown this week, was British filmmaker Amanda Eliasch and super-stylish George Blodwell.

My spies inform me that Amanda and George are filming a secret project for Channel 4 (UK.)

The eccentric couple, who, according to Eliasch, are “in the last chapter of their lives,” and are being followed by cameras on a “geriatric” LA Roadshow, that will see them styling people from “old Hollywood,” showing them the best new places to visit, to eat, to have plastic surgery, from nail salons to hair salons, from teeth bleaching, to soul searching. This will apparently include, naked shamanic dances under the mountain-top moonlight.

     Oo-er!

The idea for the show is the brainchild of Eliasch, who is an award-winning documentary producer and director.

Eliasch is best known on these shores for her hit film, The Gun, the Cake & the Butterfly but from 1988 to 2006 Eliasch was married to Swedish billionaire Johan Eliasch, the CEO of the Head sportswear. The couple have two sons, Charles (now known as singing star Evie Lake) and Jack.

Amanda, who is still looking at glamorous at 56, says she likes Andy Warhol; black dresses and loves wearing her Peggy Guggenheim- style sunglasses, which have become her trademark look.

She tells me she loves making neons and writing poetry, being a lover, a mistress, and a wife to all mediums and all aspects of life, and is openly polyamorous.

Amanda, who has been linked romantically with Sir Tim Rice since 2007, told me: “I’d say, I’m not a bombshell perhaps, in the body, but boy I’m a bomb in the brain.

“This show will be an enormous amount of fun for the LA ‘baby-boomers,’ who haven’t aged since 1972, and who are still rocking it at ‘The Grill’ in Beverly Hills with their plastic surgery and purely white teeth,” she told me.

“They are a lesson for everyone to take the hormones and keep looking young and beautiful, and I love working with George,” she added.

Blodwell is a celebrity stylist who has dressed the likes of Dame Helen Mirren, Celine Dion (for her first appearance on US TV), and Annie Lennox for her performance as a Pierrot clown at the VH1 music awards.

He credits his flair for fashion – and his confident approach to celebrity – to his experience growing up in a 1950s Edinburgh tenement with his school cleaner mum Elizabeth and laborer dad Alfred.

Sounds like this has all ingredients to be a roaring success!
