Game Of Thrones star Emilia Clarke has revealed she couldn’t even look at herself in the mirror after having brain surgery to remove two aneurysms.
The British actress, credits the life-changing experience to a shift in her view of herself and beauty.
Stunning Emilia, is currently promoting the final season of iconic HBO show Games of Thrones.
Emilia released unseen photographs last month that were taken while she recovered from one the first life-threatening aneurysm she suffered in 2011.
And speaking to Stylist magazine, Emilia discussed how much of a toll the operations took on not only her health but her self confidence.
“When I looked in the mirror, I just saw pain in my eyes. I found it very, very difficult. I used to put on make-up without looking in the mirror, which probably made me look a lot worse.
“My face didn’t change, but my feelings about myself changed. When you can look at yourself in the eyes and feel OK with what’s looking back at you, then what more do you need?”
The beauty, who plays dragon queen Daenerys Targaryen, also admitted that never getting to play the character again made her sad as she felt beautiful in the role.
She said: “I will never look as good as I did when I was playing Daenerys. I had the best professionals in the world doing my hair and make-up and costumes, and there is really not much I can do about it.
“I can’t ever get my hair to look like Daenerys’. It’s a heartbreak, but I’ve had to come to terms with that.”
