Healthcare in the United States can be confusing, daunting and costly in comparison to other countries. Having to understand terms like deductibles, out-of-pocket maximums and co-pays are enough to send anyone into a meltdown trying to make sense of it all. My agency, Beach Financial Group, specializes in providing expats the assistance and guidance they need to make their health insurance enrollments a seamless process.
Open enrollment (the period during one may freely enroll in or change health insurance plan) this year began on October 15th and will proceed through January 31, 2020. If you are trying to enroll or make a change that needs to be effectuated by January 1st, you will need to make the change no later than December 15th, 2019.
Beach Financial Group works with all insurance carriers in the state of California. Anthem Blue Cross, Blue Shield of California, Molina, Sutter Health, OSCAR Health, Health Net, Kaiser, and Cigna. Depending on the size of your household and income we can also assist with verifying if you qualify for subsidies through Covered California. Covered California can provide tax credit relief/subsidies towards health care plans for individuals and families who qualify.

In addition, we would like to inform everyone of the most recent OSCAR Health change. To make premiums even more affordable for 2020 they have divided the network into two. One network will have UCLA while the other one will exclude UCLA. Of course, depending on your personal circumstances there are advantages to both. Anthem Blue Cross has also made some news! They made it back to the individual health insurance market for 2020. However, please note that they will only be offering coverage in certain areas of California and will not have all the plan options that other carriers will be offering.

OSCAR Health, Blue Shield of California, Health Net, Covered California, John Hancock, and LISI will be coming out to provide you with all the 2020 open enrollment information for individual, small/large group health insurance and life insurance. There will be tacos, drinks, a raffle and giveaways – so it would be great to see present and future clients!
