For British actor Naveen Andrews, known to LOST fans as Sayid, the end of LOST also marks the public end of his twelve-year relationship with American actress Barbara Hershey.
The two met on the set of their film Drowning on Dry Land in 1998 when Andrews was 29 and Hershey was 50.
The couple privately separated six months ago, but only recently went public with their decision. Andrews’s manager Renee Jennett confirmed the news and told People.com: “They remain best of friends.”
This is not the first time the pair have separated. In 2005 they briefly split up and Andrews fathered a child with another woman before he and Hershey reunited.
I’ve always admired their ability to connect despite their difference in age. Who knows, maybe they’ll get back together again, stranger things have happened… eh LOSTies?
