Meet Jessica Paul from Manchester, UK who moved to LA this year to pursue her podcasting, acting and mindset mentoring business.
Was there a particular reason you chose LA?
LA’s celebrity culture suits my online business, my podcast and my own acting career… I decided on this vibe. And truthfully, this time last year I got ill and almost lost my life – not to be dramatic – but it gave me the kick up the ass I needed to pursue the things I actually wanted. Life won’t wait for you, don’t waste it. Plus coming from rainy Manchester my body was literally dying for some Vitamin D.
What do you miss most from home?
I miss my family. My sister just had a baby so auntie duties are overseas which is hard. I’m obviously going to become wealthy and successful enough out here to buy multiple properties across Cali and the UK, and house them all… (got to dream big, eh?) I’m definitely a home bird at heart.
What was your first impression of LA and has it changed since?
BIG. Which is both beautiful and a little overwhelming. I was really poorly when I first arrived (plane lurgy) so it took me a bit of acclimatising. But once I was in it, I was IN IT. Make sure you have a car to get around! California as a place is magic though – a city of big dreams which I love.
What do you find the biggest difference is living here versus Manchester?
The people. Everyone LOVES a Brit over here. Americans have been especially friendly and accommodating. Plus, for my single ladies, dating is far more exciting here… Cali men are the vibe. It’s the accent.
Do you have a hidden gem in LA that you want to share with us?
Coral Tree Cafe in Brentwood – I spent a lot of time here working on new projects! I like to sit outside in the sun with my laptop drinking green juice like the LA gal I now apparently am.
What would you suggest to others who are thinking about making the move here?
Go for it. If your soul is asking you, what are you waiting for? I sat on this for three years (granted, I was learning a lot about myself in that time) but who knows when the next pandemic is going to hit. Get yourself out here whilst you can. Plus, literally everything feels better in the sunshine.
Lots of our members join our group Brits in LA seeking out words of wisdom – what is the best piece of advice you’ve been given?
Do the damn thing. Your desires want YOU as much as you want them… stop waiting. If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that life will keep moving regardless… are you prioritizing what you want, or what you fear?

This is my signature three-month course for high level women ready to call in their money, love and career success.
