Playing Arthur in the remake of the 1981 classic is one thing, but now funny man Russell Brand wants to live like the spoiled drunk too, after splashing out $2.7m on a NYC love nest for himself and his fiancé, singer Katy Perry.
My spies inform me that Perry has fallen in love with the stylish 1500-square-foot penthouse in Manhattan’s trendy TriBeca district. The 2-bedroom pied-à-terre boasts a rooftop terrace with stunning views overlooking New York City. Sources say that the couple are planning on using the apartment as their crash pad during their hectic schedules, which often takes them to the Big Apple.
Ok, so the original Arthur’s luxury 5th Avenue pad might have been considerably more large than Russell’s new TriBeca abode, but if you ask me scruffy-faced Russell’s remake of the hit movie which starred Dudley Mooreand Liza Minnelli, due for release next year, won’t be nearly as big in my opinion, either… Ouch, sorry Russell!
