Another comic book movie super-villain from the UK!
British actor Tom Hardy has reportedly been cast as the villain in the next Batman movie opposite Christian Bale as the caped crusader, as first reported by Deadline Hollywood. Since the long-awaited Max Max reboot, Mad Max: Fury Road has been delayed, it appears Hardy is available to work on the untitled super-hero project that would reunite him with Inception director Chris Nolan and co-star Joseph Gordon-Levitt. Hardy would also be working alongside Morgan Freeman and Michael Caine on the film.
Insiders are keeping Hardy’s role a secret and will not even confirm that he will be a villain, but this is the most probable case. It would not be the first time Hardy played the bad guy in a major motion picture as he was the nemesis in Star Trek: Nemesis back in 2002.
Although Tom is already a star, this role might be what conclusively puts him on track toward international super-stardom, that is… if the rumour is true. Good luck Tom!
