Emma Ridley will do anything for a bit of publicity… The ex-Wild Child has vowed to recreate her famous 80s Limelight club strip if British boy band Blue wins this year’s Eurovision song contest. Now that’s the kind of promises we like to hear. Maybe this is what we need to bring in the votes!
The former Disney child star – now a successful fitness guru living in Los Angeles – was catapulted to fame at the age of 14 back in the late eighties after a friend dared her to upstage model Mandy Smith at a charity fashion event.
So of course game for a laugh Ridley, leapt on the catwalk and started stripping for the paparazzi, and the rest is history.
Now the whacky and wild one says she would do it all over again 24-years later if the boy band wins the talent contest.
Ridley said, “I promised Anthony that I would fly to Dusseldorf to support the band and that if they won I was going to jump on stage like I did in 1987 and strip down to my bra and panties in front TV cameras for the whole Europe to see.”…
I could see many a folk tuning in to see that!
Ridley and singer Costa (pictured far right) became good friends after they appeared together on the Channel 4 reality series Five Go To Turkey and in an exchange of tweets Ridley wrote to Costa; @AntonyCosta “OK I promise If Blue win Eurovision I’ll to jump on stage like I did in 1987 and strip to my bra and panties with excitement!”
Costa replied: ’@EmmaRidley1 “ha.. Go on emz…..!!!! Xxx”…
In recent years, Britain’s attempts to conquer Eurovision has been extremely dire to say the least, apart from a rare 5th place; it’s pretty much been a big fat ‘nul points’.
So lets hope Ridley’s tempting offer of a winning striptease increases Blue’s chances and turns the nills into 12 points!
