Hugh Grant came very close to replacing the now infamous Charlie Sheen on the hit television series Two and a Half Men; however, according to Deadline Hollywood, which first broke the news, Grant recently ended contract negotiations with producers at the last minute due to creative differences.
Grant was reportedly offered one million dollars per episode to star in the profitable series broadcasted by CBS. The network was hoping to announce Grant as its new star this week, but now it appears the network will have to find another big name to make headlines. Other actors who have been rumored to be in consideration to replace Sheen, who was famously cut from the hit show earlier this year, include Woody Harrelson, Rob Lowe, John Stamos, and Jeremy Piven.
Although casting Hugh as the new protagonist of the series could have been interesting, it would not have worked out in the long run unless the About a Boy star was willing to commit all of his creative energy to the production, which he was apparently unwilling to do. That being said, it could not have been easy for Hugh to walk away from potentially earning twenty-five million dollars for each year of starring on the show.
You made your choice, Hugh, I hope you are happy with your decision.
