A RECURRING pleasure on KCET recently are the welcome re-runs of Rosemary and Thyme, the charming and gentle contemporary British crime series with a unique twist, as two gardening enthusiasts find themselves caught up in a series of murder mysteries.
Felicity Kendal and Pam Ferris star as Rosemary Boxer and Laura Thyme, a couple of keen horticulturalists who always seem to encounter murder on their travels round the country. The show lasted for only three series between 2003 and 2007, but it earned a devoted and enduring following.
This Wednesday, (May 23rd), sees Rosemary and Laura called to help the dying grass at the Bowden Grange Language School. Soon the pair are embroiled in a mystery from the past and a bitter present-day rivalry. First Polish student Angelica disappears, then school handyman Felix is found with his throat expertly slashed. Although he pestered girls, there is no clear reason why anyone would want to kill him. Then Angelica is found dead on the school grounds.
Rosemary and Thyme airs from 9-10pm on Wednesdays, on KCET. Check local listings.
