If you live in South Wales you might catch Matt Smith running around in a silver space suit or driving around in an old-time classic car (pictured.) Smith and the Doctor Who cast and crew have been busy filming scenes on location for the upcoming Doctor Who Christmas episode. The story takes place in war-torn England and involves a young widow, played by actress Claire Skinner, and her two children.
Speaking about the special episode, Doctor Who lead writer and executive producer Steven Moffat said: “The Doctor at Christmas – nothing is more fun to write. Maybe it’s so his kind of day – everything’s bright and shiny, everybody’s having a laugh, and nobody minds if you wear a really stupid hat.” Moffat added: “Of all the Doctors, Matt Smith’s is the one that was born for this time of year – so it’s the best news possible that he’s heading back down the chimney.”
The regular season finale of the current Doctor Who series will be broadcast on Saturday, October 1st with the Christmas episode airing closer to the holidays. This Doctor Who Christmas episode will mark Smith’s second. As previously reported, Smith and the rest of the current Doctor Who cast will return to work on the show next year. Keep up the good work Matt!
