Matt Smith is not your typical leading man, but the Doctor Who star has admitted he fancies his chances in Tinseltown when his time as TV’s favorite Time Lord is up.
Regarding his future career prospects, the 28-year-old actor revealed that he is contracted for one more series as the Doctor and confirmed he won’t be sticking with the role past the upcoming 2012/2013 season, adding: “Then I’m certainly going to come and give it a shot. I’d like to hang out in LA.”
I’m not sure Matt’s plan is a very good idea, Hollywood is a tough town to crack and only a few ever truly break through. Matt’s pal, The Amazing Spider-Man star, Andrew Garfield, is an example of one of the lucky ones.
But Smith did say he wanted to ‘hang out’ in LA, that’s good, because that is what most of the struggling thespians end up doing here, they hang out, attending the opening of an envelope hoping they’ll get noticed, the poor things… Not exactly living the dream when harsh reality comes to light…
If you ask me, Matt Smith may well want to reconsider his dream before hanging up his sonic screwdriver for the last time!
