John Barrowman is known for playing characters that travel back in time on Doctor Who and more recently, Torchwood.
Now, according to TVGuide.com, the actor will be portraying a man born and raised in the late 1800s.
In a new pilot called Gilded Lilys being developed by ABC and producer Shonda Rhimes, Barrowman will play Julius Lily, the playboy son of the Lily family opening the first grand luxury hotel in New York.
The Scottish–American’s co-stars on the project include Blythe Danner, Matt Lauria, Sarah Bolger and Madeline Zima. The show will reportedly incorporate an epic love story, a vicious rivalry, and a scandalous secret.
I love John’s work, and Gilded Lilys sounds like a project that is totally up my street!
