Looking more like Grizzly Adams, Inception star Tom Hardy shocked onlookers with his new dowdy image, while spotted strolling through LAX airport earlier this week. His out-of-control beard made the 34-year-old Brit barely unrecognisable!
The method actor is currently portraying character Max Rockatansky in Mad Max: Fury Road – the fourth film in the franchise, spoiling his pretty-boy looks further by wearing dark sunglasses and slicked back hair, he confirmed he has grown the ”big and bushy” facial hair because part of the storyline called for it.
Hardy told reporters, ”The beard is to make me look handsome. Really, it’s because I’m about to play Mad Max in the new film and we start the shoot by showing him in his wild days.”
In other Hardy news, rumour has it that Tom is the favourite to replace Mickey Rourke in the upcoming film biography about gay rugby superstar Gareth Thomas, as the training has proved bit too much for Rourke at his age.
He said, ”I was talking to Mickey yesterday and basically we’re now talking to other big-name actors who could play the part instead. We had talked about using computer-generated special effects with Mickey but we don’t think that will be as realistic, so it’s time to find someone new.”
