British actor Jonny Lee Miller played the role of a real life crime fighter when he stopped a man who was allegedly attempting to steal his mail. Oo-er..!
The 39-year-old British actor who plays Sherlock Holmes in the upcoming CBS’s drama Elementary opposite Lucy Liu (inset pic) – apparently grappled with a man who was tampering with a mailbox in Los Angeles last Friday.
According to sources, Miller confronted the suspect, they had a verbal argument, and a brief scuffle as the actor attempted to retrieve the mail stolen by the man.
During their altercation, the former Eli Stone and Dexter star called 911 and police arrived at the scene to arrest the would-be thief on suspicion of mail theft.
In recent Miller news, the actor has defended his show “Elementary” against comparisons to the BBC’s “Sherlock”, saying: “You obviously look at it and say, ‘Wait a second . . .’ but I feel there’s enough differences there.
“I thought I could do something with it; otherwise there’d be no point.”
Elementary hits television screens Thursday nights this fall on CBS.
