Six-time Grammy-award winning British singer Adele is pregnant with her first child, it was announced.
The 24-year-old star broke the news she is expecting on her official website, saying that she and boyfriend Simon Konecki are “over the moon.”
Adele has been dating 36-year-old Konecki since last summer, and went public with the relationship in January.
Of today’s news she stated: “I’m delighted to announce that Simon and I are expecting our first child together, I wanted you to hear the news direct from me. Yours always, Adele xx.”
In the blogpost, Adele issued a plea that the couple’s privacy be respected as they prepare to become parents.
This surprise comes after Adele had suffered many years of troubled romantic relationships, which she has since famously brought to life on her hit albums.
Songs such as “Someone Like You” and “Rolling in the Deep” dealt deeply with her breakup from her last boyfriend.
Earlier this year, Adele told “People” magazine, “I really want to be a mum,” adding that her goal is to have three sons by the age of 30. ‘I better start getting on with it!’ she said.
It appears Adele has part of her wish, I guess now she’ll be “rolling” in the diapers!
