Gordon Ramsay wants to ‘do time’ in an American jail… The celebrity chef hit the headlines recently when he revealed he is looking for a prison to host him so he can repeat his Channel 4 hit show Behind Bars in the U.S. He said: “There is an idea about going into a ladies’ prison which will be interesting. “And I would definitely go back to Brixton Prison. “Think of all of those people in prison and barely ten per cent are getting anywhere near work. I can turn this huge negative into something positive.” The reality star added: “I believe there are massive missed opportunities in prisons.” He told his Twitter followers that he is hoping to take his prison project across the Atlantic, tweeting: “I’m currently looking at a US prison!” Ramsay currently has three shows on the Fox network and they are already backing his latest plan to create different franchises of the show. ‘Behind Bars’ is a surprise hit, with almost three million viewers in UK. Ramsay has struggled to turn the 12 Brixton prisoners into chefs but he said: “We are making a huge difference! “Giving up is not on my radar. The system is a joke and it’s not helping anybody.” His chefs include drug dealers, burglars, muggers and thieves, at the London, Category B Victorian jail. Oo-er!
